I LOVE THIS TREND! But....its not really a trend. More of this season's twist on a classic look. After working for Ralph Lauren for 7 years its hard not to love plaid. I had so much fun putting this At Any Age post together. The selection of neutral plaids right now is great and they really do go with everything. It feels so good to be back! I'm not going to lie, creating this post took me a LONG time! I tried to find time in between feedings, naps, and visitors to peruse the internet for the perfect pieces. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I can never hit the post button until things are just right. I know things will get easier and its been less than a week since baby Beau was born but it sure feels good to get back in the saddle so to speak!

TRANSITIONAL JACKETS
Last month a client reached out to me for help packing for an upcoming trip to London. The weather forecast was going to be uncharacteristically warm there and she needed two easy to style jackets that could take her from day to night. This is why I love my job - I love a challenge!!! The above styles all work in milder temperatures and although I paired them back to denim for more casual "day" looks, they can all easily be worn into the evening over a dress, skirt, or crepe pant.
One of my favorite brands for achieving this look is IRO. Although their prices are not inexpensive, they won't break the bank either. And you can achieve an edgy/French-chic/Chanel-esque look for a fraction of the price. I love this one and this one is a classic. I've had mine for almost five years now and its still my go-to for Spring. Here is an option under $100!

HIS OFFICE PARTY
This time of year I'm constantly having clients ask me what to wear for their boyfriend or husband's holiday work parties. I can be tough, I get it! You want to look sexy yet elegant, chic yet not flashy, and styled all at the same time. When it comes to jewelry I always say less is more. If you're going to wear earrings, rarely a necklace but you can throw on some bracelets. Necklaces I usually advise clients to wear solo. A cocktail ring is always a good idea.
These earrings are an investment but they can be worn all year round - from holiday parties in the winter to girls nights out in the summer with white jeans and a silk top. I also love these which are on sale! The best advice I can give for holiday dressing is don't wait till the last minute! I know that's easier said than done these days with kids, work, shopping for gifts, and everything else, but there is nothing worse than having multiple overpriced cocktail dresses in your closet that you'll never wear again. I see it every time I do someone's closet for the first time. I love all the choices in this post because they're very versatile and although they're broken down by age, I would wear every one!
