THE CLASSICS

I bought this camel trench in September and have been wearing it consistently ever since! I love what it does for my casual day outfits and it has come in handy at night over a dress too. There is nothing more classic than a trench coat. Now is a great time to pick one up on sale. I love this one from Club Monaco and this one from J Crew.

Have you heard of Fashionphile? It's my go-to for used handbags and I always direct clients there when they're interested in selling a luxury piece. I've used them multiple times for both buying and selling and find them to be very professional and trustworthy. They also guarantee authenticity which is a must when it comes to purchasing a used accessory. A classic Chanel bag is definitely a splurge BUT buying a gently used one can take the sting out...sort of. I've had my eye on this one and this one for a while now, both colors I could really use in my wardrobe. I haven't used it before but they also offer layaway if you want to pay over time!

Maybe it was my recent trip down south but I definitely have warmer weather on my mind! I've never had a ton of navy in my wardrobe but I've always loved the nautical look. Working for Ralph Lauren for 7 years will do that to you!

If you're looking to refresh this trend in your closet this sweater can be worn now, back to your favorite pair of dark denim or, with white in the Spring. Get the same look for under $100 with this sweater from J.Crew. Last summer I lived in this one from Saint James.

Have you heard of MD Stripes? They have the prettiest statement tops to take on vacation now or wear this summer. This cape dress is a must have!! If you don't want to break the bank to accessorize it, these earrings are so chic and under $50! Need help putting together your New Nautical look? Help! I'm going away for the weekend and I have no idea what to pack!! I love when I get these calls from my clients. It can be a challenge especially on a short trip to "pack smart" yet also feel sexy and chic on vacation. For me there is nothing better than a text of pic from a client shopping in London or on a beach in Mexico who is in love with what they're wearing. When you look good you feel good!

GRAY

SHOP THE POST

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven // twelve

You don't have to know me well to know that I LOVE GRAY! Its my favorite neutral, goes with nearly everything, and is one of the only colors that is season-less. When I decided to do my first "gray" Lust List post I thought it would be so easy but....it wasn't!! So many things to love this season! Check out some of my other top picks:

One of my favorite end of season sales right now is Tibi. This sweater is so yummy and versatile. You can wear it with leather leggings and booties now or white skinny jeans and flats in the Spring. I love this coat too - its the perfect transitional piece for next Fall or this Spring and can be worn day to night!

Have you checked out BAUBLEBAR yet? They are my go-to site for affordable jewelry that looks chic. Sign up to receive their emails and receive 15% off your first order! These druzy earrings were so close to making the lust list! Drop earrings and pom poms are a huge trend right now and these are the most affordable ones I've seen.

CASUAL CHIC - APRES GYM

shop the post

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine

How do I go to the gym, run errands, and still look good enough to meet a girlfriend for lunch? This is one of the most common requests I get from my clients. What's the first step? Get out of your gym clothes! As tempting as it can be to wear them everyday while we run around town (especially for moms with young children) a few extra minutes and some closet preparation can go a long way. This is the first post in a three part series where I discuss casual dressing that doesn't break the bank. You can feel comfortable and look chic!

Apres Gym - This is probably one of the hardest times to motivate ourselves to "get dressed". I know the feeling. You're so proud that you even made it to the gym amidst your packed day of grocery shopping,  school pick-ups, or running back to work. I always tell my clients to start with their accessories. If you're able to splurge this is where to do it and less is definitely more. Next, invest in a chic sneaker. This trend is a gift from the fashion gods! Designer sneakers and slides have been popular for a few years now and there are so many options out there at every price point. Lastly, purchase at least 5 go-to tops and sweaters that you love. January is my favorite time to build my wardrobe because everything is ON SALE. You can purchase a $400 sweater for the same price as a Zara or ASOS one. This Vince sweater is over 60% off!
