goop - Weedkiller Found in Hummus, Chickpeas. Click here to read the article from EWG. I started making my own in quarantine with canned organic chickpeas and ever since I’ve stopped buying the prepared one.
Vanity Fair - On Folklore, Taylor Swift Proves That She Can Still Surprise Us After All These Years. Have you listened yet?
InStyle - Why aren’t fat people allowed to be trendy? Fashion is, and always has been, about thin bodies.
sneaks - My favorite summer sneakers for the boys! Made for boys, girls, and babies, these slip on sneaks are the perfect casual cool compliment to any warm weather look. Check out this pale green color on sale! Made in Spain.
road trip - If you live in the New England/New York area and are looking for a little escape I have the place for you. Last Friday I was invited to try Chef Victoria Blamey’s new menu at the Mayflower Inn and Spa in Washington, CT. Blamey is doing a Summer residency at the newly redecorated Auberge resort and everything was INCREDIBLE! I visited the Mayflower a couple of years ago for a photoshoot and while I remember it being lovely, there was nothing that really “stood out” other than the gorgeous spa. That has all changed. Celerie Kemble’s redesign is exquisite and you forget you’re not in a home. So, if you find yourself looking to get out of town for a day or two click here!
beauty - This mascara is still hands-down my favorite ever. And its CLEAN! It costs nearly double what I used to pay for my mascara but to be honest, it does double the work. My eyelashes are thicker, hydrated, and I never have a problem taking it off at night. The last two clean ones I tried left my lashes dry and falling out. Highly recommend!
tote - Designed in Italy and handmade in Guatamala, this 100% plastic bag is the perfect compliment to your Summer style. It’s neutral, washable, and perfect for on and off the beach. This powder color will take you straight into Fall!
make - My favorite summer dinner: a light fish, Bibb lettuce salad or micro greens, and a rice prepared like this one. I tried it a few nights ago and it was delicious! You can easily replace or remove any other nuts if you need to!
BEACH + POOL
A few weeks ago I shared on Instagram how hard it has been for me to find a bathing suit I’m comfortable in. After having kids everything just fits differently. Plus, swimwear seems to be so expensive these days and I really wanted to invest in something I loved. There are so many options! Here are the post popular brands you all recommended:
Top suggested swim brands:
National Geographic - The pandemic could actually strengthen the U.S. food system. The shock to U.S. food chains from the coronavirus has been a boon to small- and mid-sized farms and distributors. If you’re local check out Mike’s Organic. They have an amazing selection of organic meats, produce, and specialty foods and everything is from small farms and businesses!
goop - The future of Dads. An interview with evolutionary anthropologist Anna Machin, the author of The Life of Dad. Machin explains the upsides, complexities, and challenges of fathering in this moment.
Harper’s Bazaar - Jacquemus Sets Spring 2021 Show in Field of Gold. This show was STUNNING. My favorite setting ever for a show - just beautiful.
statement earrings
outdoor bar - I recently shared an outdoor bar that I picked up from Home Goods. I was going to use it as a planter for my little herb garden I started but after seeing this one from Serena & Lily, I may have to re think that!
linen pant - I’ve been on the hunt for an easy breezy linen pant to wear on and off the beach over a bathing suit etc. I love this pair! The flax color is great with a white stipe and they also come in all white. 50% off right now with code GREAT making them under $50!
make - I love a good Summer pasta and this one is perfect. It’s light and fresh and easy to whip up on a hot day. Gluten and dairy free? Swap out the pasta and use a vegan ricotta. We’ve been eating a ton of basil in our house so I used mint instead!
nook - I’m decorating a little nook in the boy’s bedroom that I’m so excited to start sharing. They’re going to be in the same room in a matter of months and I want to make this little reading corner special. I’m using this animal wallpaper (it has taken me a LONG time to find one that we all like) and I’ll be doing a simple Belgian linen on their window seat. I’m hoping to order this rattan sconce when it comes back in stock in September! Also how adorable are these bamboo and rope chairs from the same brand? 20% off right now with code BLOOMING.
sunnies - Loving this blush/tan color for sunglasses lately. This splurge pair is the perfect khaki shade!

goop - My Morning Routine - How 51-Year-Old Naomi Watts Gets Her Day—and Her Amazing Skin—into Shape
Architectural Digest - Snøhetta Completes a Cabin Designed to Slow the Winds From Nearby Glaciers. The bunk room is my favorite!!! And those views?!

Apartment Therapy - 3 Rules that 2 Adults Use to Share 1 Open Plan Loft Without Annoying Each Other. Love this article by Shelcy Joseph. Shelcy and her sister have one of my favorite instagram’s of the moment nyxclothes. A must follow!
watch - At this point you probably already know that the award-winning musical Hamilton is available to watch at home via Disney’s streaming service. We watched it last Friday and ever since I’ve been on the hunt for more films and shows from that time period. If you haven’t watched John Adams yet its great. Its an HBO mini series but available if you have Amazon Prime. The acting is great and very interesting to watch post Hamilton. Click here for the trailer.
listen - I’ve always loved the goop podcast. Its easy to listen too and they have great guests. I was happy to see that they had created a page for anti-racism education and there you will find 7 episodes to listen to. There are also two great listens on Environmental Racism. I listened to Stepping Out of Privilege with Layla Saad back in March but just listened again for a second time. I’m working my way through all of them and you should too! “We need people who are willing to turn within and see: How am I part of the problem?” Saad says.
feet - Last month I was in my dermatologist’s office for my annual skin check. Sitting there in the chair waiting I looked down at my feet - 3 months in quarantine and they weren’t looking so hot. I had been doing a lot of walking outside without shoes and my heels were dry and cracked. It didn't take long for Dr. Dolder to notice (cringe) and say, “I have a cream for that!”. I went home and immediately ordered it from Amazon. The cream is from Germany and it is awesome. I keep it on my bedside table and use it every night. After only three days my feet were so soft and my heels were smooth. Highly recommend!
make - Its finally peach season! This is one of my favorite savory/sweet peach recipes. If you love them on the grill you’ll love them in a cast iron. Click here to try rosemary peach chicken in a white wine pan sauce. PS the mozzarella gets added at the end so you can easily made this dairy free!
dress - A beautiful easy-breezy white dress for summer. Maybe thats why its called the Summer Dress! Runs TTS! Use code ArtemisT20 for 20% off.
New arrivals from one of my favorites, Bloomist.
After spending nearly four months at home I started to think, “There are a few things I’d like to improve around here!”. In all honesty, I had a growing list in my head that started after week two and was added to weekly:) Some of the projects were smaller: reorganize the linen closet and order small baskets for extra soaps and toothpaste, clear out the garage, organize the basement, etc., but some projects were bigger! I’ve wanted to update our kitchen since we moved in but that project requires more saving, so I set out to find a project that was both cost-effective and satisfying.
The color of our front door is Galveston Gray by Benjamin Moore. I love the color! It took me a long time to find this gray - not too dark, but also not too light especially in the sun. We used a super high-gloss paint from Fine Paints of Europe which is easy to clean and still gives it a really fresh feel four years later. You can read more about the paint colors we’ve used in our house HERE.
For the shutters, instead of the high-gloss, we used an outdoor paint in semi gloss. I didn’t want them to be super shiny and also we saved on cost by going with the less expensive brand. To be honest, when they were first painted it took a little getting used to. To my perfectionist’s eye the colors looked slightly different and the shutters felt a touch too light but after one week I fell in love with it.
I’m embarrassed to say I never thought of our front walkway as “dirty”. I’m not really sure what I thought, it was always just dark. It never occurred to me that it was originally a different color AND could be that color again! One day our neighbors were talking about power washing and I thought, “I wonder what we could power wash?”. And the rest is history…haha. Here is the power washer we used. We did not use soap on our bluestone and it was super simple to set up. Pro tip: Wear dark clothes - long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and safety glasses. If the water meets the dirt in the wrong way (which is inevitable) you will be splattered. I was covered in mud! Ta-da!
Harper’s Bazaar - Dr. Bernice A. King on the Quest for Racial Justice. I’ve been reading this quote over and over again because its so powerful, one time just isn’t enough. “Power at its best is Love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is Love correcting everything that stands against Love.” - Dr. Martin Luther King
Rip & Tan - Major design inspo alert from this Seattle home featured on Jenni Kayne’s blog. Love Rip and Tan for all things California lifestyle.

Sunday Style - Innika Choo
coasters - Love these woven coasters from a little shop in Southampton, NY. My girlfriend just surprised me with a set and they are so lovely! They are a bit oversized which makes them feel more like decor than utility!
diffuser - I smelled this the other day and had to share. Its a splurge but the scent is absolutely incredible. So hard to describe - fresh and light - the kind you don’t grow tired of! Treat yourself!
boho beautiful - I recently discovered Island Tribe. The brand makes the most dreamy dresses and caftans and I love the way they mix fabrics and textures. I’ve had my eye on this maxi dress, and I love the rope detailing on this one! Island Tribe is a Black-owned business.
nap - Fancy a nap? Hill House Home just released the newest version of their “nap dress” and I am totally smitten. They also offer matching hair accessories - bow and headband. Thinking maybe the emerald?
hose - Never in a million years would I be thinking about the color of my garden hose pre-covid. Post-covid? Obsessing over this ivory one!
Front Door Decor
Every summer wardrobe needs an easy, breezy, white dress that you can throw on during a hot day or dress up for a dinner date. I love cotton dresses because they’re breathable and washable so you don’t have to worry about “playing” in them. Wear your clothes! This classic silhouette by Jenni Kayne is my favorite this season (you can use code: ArtemisT20 for20% off). This is a great under $60 version and I also found this one for under $150. This is the one I’m wearing in my IGTV. More sizes here and here.
This blouse is a great piece for Summer. The weight of it is ideal for the heat and the sleeve length makes it so versatile. Wear it tucked into denim shorts or throw it over a bathing suit and tie it at the waist. I also love a classic button-down like this one, but for summer I thought the collarless style felt fresh. You can find this one in my Fall Capsule Wardrobe.
This is my original favorite tee in my closet. I first discovered it when I was working for Theory and bought a couple more of them right before I left. They last and only get better with age (and washing!). If you’re looking for an off-white style, I also have this one. The texture is great!
For me, Summer style is defined by basics - white tees, maxi dresses, and soft denim. So how do you make a classic look stand out? Jewelry! When it comes to jewelry I like to keep things simple. Around my neck I wear a tiny initial necklace that my best friend gave me for my 30th birthday. When I want a little more of a layered look, I add necklaces like this wishbone style or this beaded style. I also love this herringbone chain style. I suggest sticking to 2-3 at various lengths!
I never really wore denim shorts until I found this pair. This is the exact style and color I have. I found the exact same fit in a non-distressed style here in denim and here in black. They are nearly sold out everywhere but wanted to link in case this is your size or you wanted to look it up in the future! Looking for an alternative under $100 style? This pair is great and is under $60. The fit is called the “cheeky” and they’re very flattering! I have them in the black too! Looking for a pair of white shorts? Love this creamy colored pair!
When I think of Summer denim I want something that is either white or light! I have this denim pair and its the best light wash for Spring, Summer, and even into Fall. I love the hem on these - it’s perfect for showing off a great sandal or for a barefoot night at the beach. This style is also a great alternative to white denim for bicycle riding and cool summer nights. They’re high waisted and easy to tuck in summer blouses our wear with a bathing suit. Looking for a great pair of white jeans? I love these!
When you first think of a Summer wardrobe your mind doesn’t immediately think “sweater” but you’ll use one more than you think! A great light cotton sweater is a closet essential for this season. Breezy nights, fighting off mosquitos, I love wearing this one with shorts or throwing it over my shoulders with a maxi dress. This sand colored one is also under $100 and would be great into Fall!
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with these sneakers. They’ve been to Europe and back with me, are machine washable, and have been worn countless times over the last two years. To be honest, I don’t know what I was wearing before them! Actually I do…my converse! I still love them but for Summer, these are so easy to slip on and go and their insanely comfortable. You won’t be disappointed!
A great hat is the most essential Summer accessory. I love this classic Panama style from one of my favorite small businesses, Hat Attack. It comes in a natural style, and this black one as shown above and offers SPF protection from the sun. More about the brand - Hat Attack is a family owned business based in the Bronx, NY and all of their products are made in the USA. I can attest to the quality and craftsmanship which is so important when it comes to hats - they last year after year and travel well!
I love these sandals. They are one of the best under $100 styles I’ve ever worn. The leather is so buttery soft and they feel like you’re wearing a glove. I’m wearing the light taupe color. I often get asked about the Hermes Oran sandals. I LOVE and am obsessed with them but they are probably one of the biggest splurges in my closet. That being said, are they worth it? For me they were but its such a personal answer. If you’re going to love them every.single.time. you put them on and they’re going to give you a little pep in your step? Then yes! Save up and go for it! I store mine in their original box and treat them with kid gloves when I’m not wearing them - a pair of shoes like these should last you a LONG time!
