make - Awesome red wine pot roast. THIS recipe is insane. One night between Christmas and New Years when we were all sick at home with covid my dad left a dutch oven on our front steps with this pot roast. I cannot tell you how insanely delicious it was (and healing). This is soul food. I made it myself last month for dinner with friends and everyone was floored. The ingredients are pretty simple so use the best you can get! I got the beef from our local butcher and went with heirloom carrots for a little extra color. This is a must try!

shopper - How great is this shopper tote? You really could use it for almost anything…gardening, farmer’s market or light groceries. I was thinking of using it for our “to-go” bag that we bring when we go out to a restaurant. It’s always filled with books, crayons and colored pencils, stickers, etc. It was also make for a sweet summer diaper bag - just add a monogram!

bath - Ok so this is so random and another H&M Home find but I have been on the hunt for a tray like this one for the longest time! We only have one bathtub in our house and its the kid’s so I’m actually going to use it for their toys! Makes draining them really easy and then you don’t have to bother with a suction cup thing that’s constantly falling off the wall. Genius!

The last few weeks I’ve been getting the itch to entertain. The Northeast is still pretty chilly in April but there have been a few days that felt like a window into what’s to come and I can’t wait to spend more time outdoors. sofa - It’s been over a month since our new family room sofa arrived from Six Penny and I have to say we definitely made the right decision. It felt like an eternity looking for the right one and I scoured the internet to find something that checked all our boxes. What I love most about the one we ended up with is the combination of comfort and functionality. The linen/cotton combination is so soft and the floating chaise piece is always moving from one end to the other. That was a huge plus for us because I didn’t want to be married to a single shape for the next 5+ years. Highly recommend!

watch - WHOA. I watched the new Lily Collins movie Windfall this week and it was not what I expected. Actually I knew nothing about the film going in other than that when I think of Lily Collins I think of Paris and this was certainly not Emily. Five minutes in and you feel like you’re in a Hitchcock thriller. I thought the acting/casting was great (Lilly’s husband directed and definitely brought out her best) and I did not expect the ending. Curious to hear if you’ve seen it and what you all think?

make - Farmer’s market pasta primavera with goat cheese. So excited for Spring cooking, fresh basil, and farmer’s markets! This is a super easy and delicious weeknight recipe and the veggies can easily be substituted for whatever you have at home. Also not a goat cheese fan? Try parmesan or ricotta!

make - No linked recipe today just my tried and true easy and quick baked salmon instructions! I usually make steamed string beans and roasted new potatoes on the side of this dish. Start with 1 1/2 lbs of wild salmon or arctic char (in season now). Place in a baking dish lined with parchment paper (makes for easier cleanup). Squeeze half of one lemon over the salmon. In a small dish combine 1/2 cup of veganaise (I like follow your heart soy free), 1/4 cup of dijon mustard, the juice of the other half of the lemon, lemon zest, salt and pepper. Spread over the fish and bake at 400 until desired doneness. Usually around 10-15 minutes. For an added crunch top with panko before cooking!

Its no secret that I love Free Assembly from Walmart Fashion. Their styles are always exactly what I’m looking for especially when it comes to wardrobe staples like this striped t-shirt. This off-white version is one of my favorite tees EVER and the best part is its $12 and is made of organic cotton. Another Walmart fashion favorite of mine this summer is this puff sleeve shirt dress. I have it in the ivory color and black and its the perfect piece for all your summer happenings from beach days to in-town errands. Back again to share more budget-friendly and size inclusive style from one of my favorite price-conscious brands, Free Assembly. I feel very strongly that looking and feeling great in your clothes doesn't have to mean breaking the bank and should be accessible regardless of size. Want to know what’s even better? With Walmart’s Deals for Days sale, you can now shop these styles for even less.

A bodysuit - I purchased this bodysuit in black and love it! The fabric is stretchy and comfortable but not too thin. The cap sleeve detail makes it just dressy enough to pair with a skirt or denim for a night out or just throw it on with your favorite pair of denim shorts. Right now this style is on sale for $10 and comes in 5 other colors, like this chalk and I also love this dried olive color.

The perfect tee - when I say perfect I mean PERFECT. This one has just the right amount of slouch, a great neckline, and the quality is so great you won’t believe it was $12. PS The “claw” color is an amazing creamy dreamy shade that is SO hard to find. TRUST ME! * This tee runs TTS

A maxi dress - This easy breezy maxi dress is perfect for warm days and nights. Love it in the back or white and for $39. *Runs TTS

Why Free Assembly? I was so excited to first introduce you to Free Assembly a few months ago for a couple of reasons. Not only is the line good-looking and affordable, they are also committed to sustainability. Most of their cotton is organic, which avoids fertilizers and pesticides. These 90’s style jeans for example are made up of 99% organic cotton and 1% elastane. Additionally, their denim is produced in LEED certified facilities that aim to protect the environment and are also Fair Trade certified. Free Assembly is also size inclusive and most items are available up to a size 24.
