It’s no secret that I love Ba&sh. I first discovered the brand while shopping in Belgium and instantly fell in love. it’s the perfect mix of cool girl boho with a side of edgy French street style. Perfect! Their pieces are investments for sure but worth the price tag, so when they go on sale you have to take advantage! I have this wrap coat. It’s such a classic piece and also the perfect neutral color to match anything in your wardrobe. Mine is from last year and I wore it throughout the winter, layering under it as it got colder.

Bloomberg - A Third of the World’s Air Routes Have Been Lost Due to Covid. Before the coronavirus, a decades-long aviation boom spawned a network of nearly 50,000 air routes that traversed the world. In less than a year, the pandemic has wiped almost a third of them off the map.

watch - Set your alarms! The Crown returns to Netflix on November 15th. This may be their most anticipated season with the arrival of Princess Diana. Click here to read more about season 4 and watch the trailer. I’m so excited to see Margaret Thatcher!
brush - For about a year now my pre shower routine has included dry brushing. I don’t do it every single time (especially when I’m in a rush) but usually once a week for about five minutes I dry brush using this brush. I actually received it as a gift from my dermatologist who swears by it for circulation and exfoliation. For more on dry brushing and a great video tutorial from Goop, click here.
slip - A slip skirt is a closet staple for me. They can easily be worn with a chunky knit in the colder temps and paired back to your favorite white t-shirt in the Spring or Summer. This pretty pale blush style is great and under $100. It would make the perfect “at home for the holidays” outfit - just add slippers!
twinning - Last weekend I put the boys in matching shirts for the first time ever and it was great! I’ve always wanted to try it but have found it hard to find boy’s clothing that looks cool and not cutesy. These striped shirts were perfect. I also love this black and cream style. The Striped Sheep is a small female-founded business based in NY (and made in the US!).

New Preston, CT
Feeling the need to get out of the house and hit the road this weekend? If you’re in the area I highly recommend New Preston, CT. We drove up for the day last weekend and it was just what the doctor ordered…mountain air, good food, and a little retail therapy!
Stop at The Smithy Market and 9 Main for lunch - the sandwiches are so good here Frank ordered two (for himself!). They have plenty of picnic tables outside or take your lunch to-go on a hike. We ran out of time but Lake Waramaug has beautiful hiking trails.
After lunch walk up into town and be sure to pop into all of the lovely antique shops and small businesses. My favorite was Plain Goods. They have the most beautiful home goods, as well as women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing. Perfect place to start your holiday shopping! I also love Privet House.
After a long day head to The Owl for dinner. We haven’t been yet but I’ve heard rave reviews! Happy travels!
STYLING CASHMERE NEUTRALS FOR FALL
As the temperatures drop this season, one of my favorite things to do is curl up on the couch with a great book and a cup of tea or take a long morning walk with the boys down to the beach. No matter where this Winter takes us one thing is true, I’ll be reaching for my coziest cashmere from Garnet Hill.
Tips for Styling Neutrals for the Fall/Winter Season
Layers: Layering neutrals and textures creates timeless looks that are both comfortable and chic. Ready for whatever weekend adventure awaits!
Texture: When selecting gloves and a hat, I love choosing a style with depth like this alpaca-blend knit set. The pom-pom makes it fun and the convertible mittens make it easy for me to do things like check my phone or zip my son’s jacket without having to take off my gloves. Genius and also #momlife!
Warmth: We are planning on spending a lot of time outside this season: roasting marshmallows by the fire, walks with friends, and other weekend adventures. This sweater cape is the perfect piece to tie any outfit together. Pair it with a long-sleeved knit or wear it over a chunkier sweater for colder temps.
Neutrals: There is something so luxurious about soft neutrals. I love to leave these cashmere slides next to my bed so I can slip them on first thing in the morning. Equally as important as my first cup of tea!
My favorite piece from the Garnet Hill cashmere collection is this cashmere wrap. Available in ten different colors, it can be worn at home as a wrap or blanket and outdoors as the perfect scarf to compliment any outfit. A wardrobe staple!

They’ve actually been around for a while (I first discovered her in my teens in Europe when my super cool older cousin was carrying one of her bags) but its only been within the last 5 years that her collections have been available in the States. To be honest I’ve never understood why the brand is still a little “under the radar” because its fantastic!

gift - I just finished my holiday gift guide for men (it will be on the blog next week) and this year I really tried to find gifts that encourage slowing down and relaxation. We’ve been talking about getting a record player for a while now so we can listen to my Dad’s old vinyls and I love this one. It happens to fit perfectly on one of the shelves in our family room. Merry Christmas Frank!
tea - Speaking of gifts, my best friend gifted me a membership to the Tea Huntress and I can’t tell you how happy it has made me. Every month I receive a ritual box complete with a new loose leaf tea, a beautiful booklet that I always read cover to cover, and seasonal ritual and tea tools (like this month’s winter incense and incense holder). If you’re looking for a special gift for the tea lover in your life or a wonderful treat for yourself, I highly recommend the Tea Huntress.

knit - Looking to give the gift of relaxation this season? No, I don’t mean a massage! Knitting! Seriously though, I’m almost finished with my first project from Smoke & Slate and it has been so nice picking up my needles again (and when I saw “my needles” I mean the ones I haven’t seen since my Mom taught me in high school). The kit has everything you need including links to online tutorials that make learning a cinch! Best part of knitting? Two fully occupied hands unavailable for scrolling :)
watch - The Queens Gambit is a must watch show. I was in the middle of episode four when I couldn’t help but think to myself how lucky we are that this was filmed in time for us to watch it during the pandemic. We don’t know when new films and series will get to resume filming and this one is just a gem. Watch the preview here.
wear - I have a love/hate relationship with sharing pieces from H&M. I love them because the quality and design are usually spot on and its affordable, BUT they always sell out incredibly fast and that can be so frustrating. This sweater is currently available in every size and is perfect for the upcoming holidays. You can easily style it with a casual pair of light wash denim or with a floral skirt or over a dress for an occasion.

setting the table for the holidays
We all know that the holidays are going to look and feel a little different this year. You may be used to celebrating with 20 people and now you’ll be staying at home with two. No matter how you’ll be celebrating one thing remains true, the holidays aren’t cancelled! You can still create beautiful new memories this year. One way I’m making this season feel a little extra special is by investing in new tabletop pieces. I was recently introduced to The Avenue and am obsessed with their super chic assortment of apparel and accessories, but they also have the most beautifully curated place settings.

How do you shacket?
A shacket is basically exactly what it sounds like: a shirt and a jacket combined. You can now find two styles, one that is based on a “lumberjack shirt” with two front pockets, or one like this, also with pockets, but a little more feminine.

sherpa - I’ve been slightly obsessed with faux sherpa this year! Love these under $30 slippers AND remember the Sherpa Mom Bag I posted about back in June? I found a stockist in the US and better yet it’s a small female-owned business based in my town! I couldn’t believe it when I walked into Wee Mondine this week and there she was (the bag lol). Love the oversized look and feel and the under $70 price tag! You can also get a little round coin purse or a larger pouch.
make - It’s that time of year again! The leaves are falling, the temperatures are dropping, and cozy meals are exactly what I’m craving. One of my all time favorite recipes is Ina Garten’s Beef Bourguignon. It takes a little bit of time and you’ll need to stock up on the ingredients, but its WORTH IT!
denim - I have been living in these jeans from Agolde. I bought them right before our trip to Nantucket and other than my Levi’s wedgie, these are the ones I reach for everyday. I like the raw hem with my sneakers during the week and I love the lighter wash paired with a chunky knit.

reuse - I was shopping recently and discovered this concept of reusable cotton or cloth facial rounds in the place of disposable ones. Genius! No more removing your makeup at night and throwing away the cotton ball, pad, or in my case, wasting a pieces of toilet paper! Instead, now you can use these and just throw them in the wash after a couple of uses. I also found these bamboo ones on Etsy. Such a great little holiday gift for your girlfriends with your favorite face wash!
treat - Last year for Halloween I decided to branch out and make some festive desserts. Baking is not my forte (I burn brownies) so if I can make these boo peanut butter bars, so can you! They were actually so fun to make and delicious! This year I’m going to try these homemade salted pretzel chocolate chip cookie snickers bars (Frank’s favorite). Wish me luck!
boot - Of all the trends popping up this year, the combat boot (or a black boot with a thicker sole) in undeniably at the top. Every time I find a great new pair to share, they sell out! Got your pair? Now how to style them? I love mixing feminine pieces with this more masculine style: a floral dress or a tweed cardigan.

drink - You are all going to think I’m nutso for saying this but I found the BEST travel water bottle ever. I’ll be honest, I originally bought it for looks (so pretty). I was sick of rummaging through our cup cabinet in the morning looking for anything with a matching lid and this just looked like a fresh start. Beyond being aesthetically beautiful, the top is designed in a way that liquid only pours out of the sides (not from the center) so there is no feeling of your hot tea or coffee rushing out at you too fast. The same goes for ice which was the best party trick when my cubes were still cubes a day late. If said too much already haha - just get it! You will 1000% love it and thank me later. I’m thinking of buying these for the boys.
laced-up - I’m going to do a bigger post on Fall boots but wanted to share my favorite style this year (and last year). It’s best described as a sleek combat boot, laces up, and looks great paired with denim, dresses, and skirts. I have this pair from ba&sh and wore them all the time last Fall and Winter.
