make - Crispy bean cakes with harissa, lemon, and herbs. I made these and served them over a bed of micro greens - so good! More and more I find myself looking for meatless recipes to supplement chicken or a burger. These bean cakes are delicious and filling. For sides, I made hummus, a fresh cucumber salad, and put out my favorite kalamata olives.
tea - Our number one most used kitchen appliance is this compact tea maker. I use it to make loose leaf tea, to boil water for regular tea, and Frank uses it ever morning to boil water for his French press. We’ve had it for over a year now and I’m shocked at how much we use it. I love that you can select the temperature of your water which is important when making tea, but has also come in handy for recipes. Highly recommend!
mr. sun - This Surya rattan sun arrived last week and its even better in person! Originally I was going to put it in the boy’s room but I’m actually thinking I’ll use it in their bathroom or the playroom (basement). Right now he’s been hanging out on the living room mantle and they greet him every morning!
makeup - This is the best under eye concealer I’ve ever tried. Period. It doesn’t cake, it doesn’t show creases, and it stays on.
movie night - Frank surprised me with an outdoor movie last Saturday night! In case you missed it, here is the post on Instagram. It was one of my favorite nights of the Summer. This is the portable projector we used and he attached it to this tripod. We don’t have a professional “sheet” yet so he just used one of our old fitted sheets (LOL) and it was perfect! Highly recommend outdoor movie nights! Don’t forget the bug spray:)

4 WAYS TO STYLE A SLIP DRESS
BACK TO SCHOOL STYLE
Back to school is here! Whether your kids are returning in-person or virtually, everyone loves a fresh start in September! Luke was in desperate need of some new clothes after a growth spurt this Spring and Walmart had everything I needed. From basics like polos and chinos to specialty items like this sherpa vest and these new gray sneaks Walmart Fashion has it all. The best part? Every item was under $20. One of Luke’s favorite pieces is this navy packable (it turns into a bag - see above) windbreaker with neon detailing. This raincoat is one of my other favorite pieces. The quality is amazing and it would be great for a boy or a girl. Speaking of a unisex classic - this black rain boot is awesome! I wish it came in my size!
Shopping at Walmart.com is easy and fast. Luke and I picked out everything together and our order arrived in less than one week (most of it was 2-day eligible!). Sizing was all TTS and returning is simple and making the entire experience seamless.

love more - Small business love that gives back! My friend Ailsa recently teamed up with House of Shan to create The Happy Tee! dress - Loveshackfancy vibes on a budget! Love this ruffle mini dress and its $100 price tag! Transition it from Summer to Fall styled with a pair of booties and a cropped leather jacket for an Isabel Marant look.
floral treat - The prettiest cookie you’ll ever eat! My best friend served these at her wedding and I was hooked! They’re beautiful and delicious. They make the perfect surprise treat for a friend or family member, or a little pick-me-up for yourself! I may need to order the Gluten Free matcha ones for my birthday next month…
clean-up - I always get asked on Instagram how I keep our house so neat with two little boys. Its a combination of things! The living and dining room areas are the “clean zone” in our house while the family room and basement are for the kids to be kids. Our house is only 1,800 sq ft so this is a compromise that works well for us. One secret I have are these belly baskets. They look great and they make it easy for me to clean up the toys they leave around the living room.
make - I’m always on the hunt for lunch recipes. I try to eat lunch at home 4-5 days a week and with Frank home every day, it needs to be satisfying enough to get us both through our day! Chicken salad is one of my favorites because it’s easy to throw together and delicious! I’ll usually eat it over greens and then make a sandwich for Frank and the boys. THIS kitchen sink chicken salad recipe from Daphne Oz is so good.
jewels - Love simple and classic jewelry that will stand the test of time. These rose gold diamond huggies are beautiful and timeless. I had a follower reach out about a 40th birthday gift and these hoops would be perfect! Mateo is a black-owned business.

OUR DAY TRIP TO SAG HARBOR
have car, will travel
I’ve always loved a good road trip and now that our world has become just a little bit smaller, we’ve been looking to some of our favorite (semi) local destinations for refuge. One positive change we’ve noticed to car travel? Less traffic! Some drives that used to take 2.5 hours can now be done in less than two which makes all the difference when it comes to same day travel.
My requirements for a same day travel destination? Good food, interesting shops, and something to do outdoors whether its a long hike to a waterfall, a beautiful beach or vineyard to visit, or a historical destination. Frank and I love Sag Harbor because of its casual Hamptons vibe. There is so much to do in-town and just outside of it that it makes the perfect destination for a day or two. We had originally planned on spending the night there for our wedding anniversary in May but postponed for obvious reasons. When we got the opportunity to go out this month (and my mom agreed to watch the boys for the day) we decided why not! If you’re looking for more info on places to go and stay you can find my unofficial travel guide HERE. A more formal guide coming soon!

OUR NANTUCKET VACATION
“The best memories are the ones we bottle up and tuck away, for even on our darkest days they bring us back to the light.”
This Summer we were so lucky to partner with J Pepper Frazier , a premier real estate firm on the island of Nantucket, for our family vacation. Nantucket is one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited. There is something about the air there, it stays with you long after you’ve gone. Last year’s vacation was the first time we were away together as a family of four and it was an unforgettable experience. The boys spoke about going back for months and we were all so excited when we learned that it would be safe to return again this season.
This year we opted for a location closer to the center of town and JPFCO found us the perfect home. 26 Pine Street, which is available for sale and for rent, has it all: walking distance to town for shopping and dinner, a short ride to our favorite bike path to Madaket, and enough space to comfortably travel with multiple families. The house is impeccably decorated and filled with all of the elevated features one needs for a luxury experience. It was perfect! Whether you’re looking for a week to get away, a long-term stay, or a new home to call your own, 26 Pine Street is quintessentially Nantucket. If you have any questions about our stay please send me a note or leave a comment!

One of my favorite perks of staying in a house while on vacation is the flexibility. Meals when you want, space for naps and toys, and the comfort of being alone especially in the current climate.
AL FRESCO
The outdoor space was perfect for an early morning breakfast at home or an afternoon cocktail before dinner. Fun fact about Nantucket: NO MOSQUITOS! I don’t know if there are actually none on the island but we didn’t get a single bite the 5 days we were there. AWESOME!

strapless - My favorite strapless bra is included in the Nordstom Anniversary sale! This is by far my favorite one, tried and true. Anytime I’ve ever tried to venture out I’ve always been disappointed.

Download and sign up for Peacock (its free for the first month just don’t forget to cancel it!) from your smart TV or computer and start watching asap. It is a mix of Bonanza, Billions, and Succession and it is incredible.

It was the only thing I used while we were away on Nantucket and I loved being able to pull the pouch out and use it alone. They’re designed in Italy and handmade in Guatemala. Linking it to purchase from a small female-owned business :).
make - THIS parchment baked lemon salmon and potatoes with dill yogurt is out of this world! I used a vegan sour cream instead of yogurt and added my own fresh dill and it was terrific. I love fish year round but especially in the early Fall when you don’t feel like grilling anymore and aren’t quite ready for the heavier dishes yet.

movie - Drive-in anyone? How does a socially distant movie night with friends sound? I’ve been brainstorming things we can do at home that are safe and fun with friends (and don’t require them to come inside). One Idea I had was a movie night. Last Friday I was invited to try Chef Victoria Blamey’s new menu at the Mayflower Inn and Spa in Washington, CT.
