I’ve always wanted to stay here and it did not disappoint! The grounds are beautiful, the rooms luxurious, and the food was incredible. Breakfast is included in your stay and I highly recommend taking advantage (see photograph below). If weather permits, enjoy it out on the wrap around porch of their 19th century mansion overlooking the perfectly manicured grounds. You will find yourself instantly transported! Topping Rose house is centrally located just steps from Bridgehampton town, a 20 minute bike ride to Sag Harbor, or a short drive to East Hampton, making it the perfect spot for a weekend away!

I’m always on the hunt for a farmer’s market, farm stand, or farm shop and Amber Waves Farm offers all three! We stopped here for lunch on Saturday and I was in heaven! Highly recommend the summer rolls and the forager salad! Click here for their full seasonal menu. Amber Waves source from and support organic, local and sustainable farmers and makers and the seasonal produce featured on their menu is grown right on the farm! They also have really cool swag:)

This ΓΌber cozy and romantic spot was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. The food is French American (one of my favorites…think lobster salad and frites) and incredible! Frank said it was one of the best dinners he’s had in years. I highly suggest making reservations as they are a local hot spot and very popular. We ate at 9pm and the place was still packed inside and out!

OUR NANTUCKET VACATION

β€œThe best memories are the ones we bottle up and tuck away, for even on our darkest days they bring us back to the light.”

This Summer we were so lucky to partner with J Pepper Frazier , a premier real estate firm on the island of Nantucket, for our family vacation. Nantucket is one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited. There is something about the air there, it stays with you long after you’ve gone. Last year’s vacation was the first time we were away together as a family of four and it was an unforgettable experience. The boys spoke about going back for months and we were all so excited when we learned that it would be safe to return again this season.

This year we opted for a location closer to the center of town and JPFCO found us the perfect home. 26 Pine Street, which is available for sale and for rent, has it all: walking distance to town for shopping and dinner, a short ride to our favorite bike path to Madaket, and enough space to comfortably travel with multiple families. The house is impeccably decorated and filled with all of the elevated features one needs for a luxury experience. It was perfect! Whether you’re looking for a week to get away, a long-term stay, or a new home to call your own, 26 Pine Street is quintessentially Nantucket. If you have any questions about our stay please send me a note or leave a comment!

beautiful, inside and out

26 Pine Street was both beautiful and functional. What I like to call livable luxury! the perfect combination when you’re traveling with children.

live in the light

Every room was filled with the most beautiful morning and afternoon light especially on the second floor. The energy was always happy and bright.

friends and family

One of my favorite perks of staying in a house while on vacation is the flexibility. Meals when you want, space for naps and toys, and the comfort of being alone especially in the current climate.

AL FRESCO

The outdoor space was perfect for an early morning breakfast at home or an afternoon cocktail before dinner. Fun fact about Nantucket: NO MOSQUITOS! I don’t know if there are actually none on the island but we didn’t get a single bite the 5 days we were there. AWESOME!

CNBC - a self made millionaire tells us why depression in your 30’s is natural and that happiness is just around the corner. He also advises what three things you need to do if you want success and happiness by the time you reach your 30’s. I’m here for the last one!

Vogue - 10 Steps to the Essential Minimalist Wardrobe.

Marie Claire - I started a company to pay off the cost of freezing my eggs. After a rare disease cost the 24-year-old her ovaries, Alix Peabody started Bev, a beverage company geared towards women. She traded in her 401k for $20,000 to launch her brand and last April she raised 7 million.

The New York Times - NYT Health explains the Coronavirus: the symptoms, the treatment, and the risks.

Architectural Digest - The Top 5 Destinations for Art and Design Lovers in February 2020. I was surprised to see Southern California on the list!

movement - You may have heard of Taryn Toomey’s The Class before. It’s not just about a workout or exercising, its about a transformation. Well starting this month, dancer Julianne Hough is taking this concept to a whole new level with Kinrgy. Kinrgy is what Hough describes as expanded fitness and she is introducing it to the world in the ultimate of forums, Oprah’s 2020 vision tour.

temperature - I always wondered why I was closer to a cool 97.8 than the average 98.6 degrees. Well it turns out humans may be chilling out so to speak. Researchers say now that number was far too high and the average human body is closer to 97.5.

sustainability - Last week I shared my 2020 sustainability goals, a few sustainable fashion brands I love, and a capsule of neutral basics. But this year is not just about changing my closet, I’m also working to change my mindset. Have you heard of blockchain technology? With their newest technology, IBM has created a way (and an app) to track where your cup of coffee is coming from. β€œThank My Farmer” will be available soon. Read more about it here in Wired.

party food - Having a few friends over next Sunday? Here are 4 recipes guaranteed to impress your Super Bowl guests (or hostess if you’re bringing an app). The French onion dip looks incredible!

52 places to go in 2020

The NYT just released their list and we’ll give you a hint, Washington, D.C. is #1. I went to college in D.C. and highly recommend the city for a long weekend. There is so much to discover beyond the monuments and museums including amazing shopping, restaurants, and rich history. Here are a few D.C. travel guides we love:

WHAT TO PACK - BEACH

WHATTOPACK-beach-ArtemisKorkidis-thegirlguide.png

Anyone else in need of a dose of vitamin D? Why does it feel like the older I get the longer it takes for Spring to arrive? When I looked at the weather report for last weekend and saw 50 degrees I immediately thought of white cotton blouses and my new taupe suede slides. Frank laughed at me when I came downstairs dressed in an outfit I think I wore this summer in Sag Harbor (when it was 80 degrees).

Have you guys checked out the shop tab yet? I just created a resort section that I'm pretty excited about! I will continue to update it with my favorites for any of you traveling to a warmer climate or dreaming of Spring like me. Here are a few of my favorites:

  • THIS DRESS! I have a similar style that I've lived in for the last 5+ years. The silhouette is perfect for a casual-pretty-summer look, love the boho vibes, and for under $100 its a great value
  • This strapless black dress is the perfect packable vacation piece. Roll it up and whip out for dinner on the beach with a statement earring. Also this set is on my wishlist!
  • This rose water spray is my go-to for warm weather and for flying. Its fully of antioxidants and always helps me feel refreshed

THE GIFT GUIDE - WANDERLUST

GIFTGUIDE-wanderlust-THEGIRLGUIDE-ArtemisKorkidis.png

So excited to share my first gift guide with you guys! I'm a firm believer in "less is more" when it comes to gift-giving. I believe that thought does count and whether you're going to splurge on a gift or looking for something small, it shows when you've put in that extra effort. One of my favorite brands to shop gifts no matter what the occasion is Cuyana. They have a wide range of price points and the quality of their goods is incredible. Frank bought me this travel case last year for Christmas and I use it ALL the time!
